The name Torano cames from the etruscan goddess "Turan". Its origins are neolitic time.

Torano situated over a hill among the vineyard, is well known as the capital of the wines of the Vilbrata valley. During the August holidays, the wines and typical delicatessen become the protagonists of a traditional festival.

Madonna delle Grazie church
Situated out of old city walls, it preserves in the inside, a statue of the "Madonna col Bambino" and a fourteenth century cross.restored during the XVIII - XIX century. The facade was build in XVIII, part of the religious ornaments are eighteenth-century.

St. Maximus' Church
The Church is known until the eleventh-century, the walls are made with semifinished stone and brick and mortar. Inside the churh are preserved a sixteenth century altar and a fresco depicting a crucifixion.
